Everyone knows about the big inventions: airplanes, the wheel, cars. But what about the unusual inventions? The ones that were not acknowledged? And maybe, just maybe, some of them are actually useful? (Foreshadowing)
Baby Mop
If there has been a baby in your family that you’ve seen, you certainly know that babies like to crawl a lot. So I guess the owner of the website BetterThanPants decided to take advantage of that. The way this works is that the surface of a mop that cleans the floors is put on a onesie that a baby wears. When that baby crawls on the floor, the mop surface rubs against the floor like on a normal mop, cleaning the floor. While the idea was first thought of in the 90s, it wasn’t fullyinvented and available until 2012.
Shoe Umbrella
We all hate it when our shoes get wet from rain, right? Maybe? Ok, probably not. But if anyone does, this invention is quite literally a mini umbrella for your shoes. (What do I think? Sounds useless.)
Ionic ear
Invented on June 12, 2023, the ionic ear was invented by William F. House to stay on your head securely, like headphones. It included a microphone and a receiver, just like most bluetooth devices. It eliminates the problem of headphones or other bluetooth devices falling off your head due to motion or excessive sweating. (You know what, just use headphones)
Group shaving machine
This crazy invention quite literally is a shaving machine. (Except with many people.) The first part of the device was to add shaving cream, then a large blade would shave all their beards off. Why, you ask? Well, In the 19th century, walrus mustaches and big bushy beards declined in popularity, and it was more “formal” for men to be clean-shaven. Barbers could only shave one customer at a time, so the solution? A big chunky machine to do it for them!
Monowheel
We all know what a unicycle is, right? Like a bike, but with just one wheel? Well, the monowheel is like that, but with a giant wheel all around you. How do you move? It’s actually like a bike, it has pedals and handlebars, but it has one giant wheel that wraps around you. Does it sound dangerous? Yes. But does it also kind of sound really fun? Yes.
