$250 Bill

President Donald Trump is trying to make a $250 bill with his face on it. Is it a good idea? South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson is proposing legislation to feature Donald Trump on a $250 bill. Wilson states, "Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump." SC lawmakers wanted this bill to be in action. Wilson also said that “Most valuable bill for the most valuable president.”

Long ago, presidents have tried to make bills a lot more than just a $250 bill. Grover Cleveland wanted to make a $1,000 bill and Woodrow Wilson even wanted to make a $100,000 bill. They wanted to make this bill because the 250th birthday of America is coming up. They are going to be signing it in 2026.

Replacing the Face on the $100 Bill

The Golden Age Act would replace Benjamin Franklin with Trump on the $100 bill starting in 2029. Benjamin Franklin will still be on the $100 bill but they won’t be printing the face of the $100 bill anymore. They would instead put Donald Trump’s face on the $100 bill. People say that they are featuring Trump on the $100 bill for his hard work. This was proposed on March 3rd, 2025. This has not been approved by Congress yet but is still a possibility that can happen.

Modifications to Most Dollar Bills

By 2026, all 10 dollar bills will be modified. These bills are mainly changed for security reasons. In 2026, the government will begin issuing a redesign to the $10 bill as part of the Catalyst series. The new bill will feature enhanced security features and will also incorporate raised tactile features to help identify the bill. Two years later, in 2028, the 50 dollar bills will be changed. The turn of the 20 dollar bills will come in 2030. In 2030, the U.S. the $20 bill will be redesigned, with abolitionist Harriet Tubman replacing Andrew Jackson on the front of the bill. Harriet Tubman is a person who helped slaves escape through the Underground Railroad to the north. While Jackson will no longer be on the front, his image will still be featured on the back of the bill, along with an image of the White House. This is the Harriet Tubman Tribute Act. The 5 dollar bills (which are the most common) will see their change between 2032 and 2035. The new-design $5 note features subtle background colors of light purple and gray. The $5 note includes an embedded security thread that glows blue when illuminated by UV light. Two watermarks are featured in the $5 note, which are visible from both sides of the note when held to light. Another bill that will be changed is the $100 bill which will take place in 2034. The US Federal Reserve plans to redesign $100 bills, with the new designs anticipated to be released in 2034 or 2038. These new bills will feature enhanced security features to combat counterfeiting.
