It is 1924 in Valianak, as the decades long war persists with no end in sight. After the Hireylans initially made landfall on southern Taloweiz through the Kin Strait and began to pursue deep inland to crush the sacred Taloweit Monarchy, they were faced with the dangers of the Taloweit environment. The excruciating heat of the deserts in the Kausvalkan region acted as a natural defense that prevented the Hireylans from advancing too quickly. Thus, the Hireylan military resort

Takis are a very famous chip that rose to popularity in the United States around since its launch in the year 2022. Since then, many people have this as a staple in their diets. Ever wonder how Halloween came into existence? Me too. Well, I just researched about it and I’ll tell you what I learned. Halloween wasn’t always a fun candy-making holiday, it came all the way from Greece! When Halloween was first celebrated, it was called All Saints Day, then All Hallows Eve, then Halloween. People wore masks and danced around a bonfire, believing that they would scare spirits away. Pumpkin carving They carved turnips instead of pumpkins, as there was old

The World Series is one of the most watched sports events every year, with 16.1 million viewers on average. WIth the contenders this year being new and small market teams in the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers, the World Series will continue to rake in more viewers, some of them being new. However, watching and playing the World Series wasn't always like this. In 1947, the first ever World Series was televised. People piled into bars and streets to watch this histo

You might have seen A LOT of hate for Arby’s on social media recently, and my question is, why? Well, I have an answer: Arby’s main problem is inconsistency, which means some people have no problem eating a half-pound roast beef sandwich, while others get food poisoning, diarrhea, and stomach problems. I think this happens because of Arby’s kitchens and their dirtiness and bacteria. For the roast beef to get bacteria, it has to sit out in a dirty, unwashed container or a dir

The grief, guilt, and gut wrenching disappointment I get once the test comes back. The number 90 circled in red with a “good job!” from my teacher. It's not enough, it's never enough. Bronx science doesn't settle for the bare minimum. I have to go higher. Higher. Higher till I can't anymore but now the ground is so far. But the top is so close. But it's also so far. So so far. So I have to go higher and higher and higher till I'm past the top, and the bottom is no longer to b

In my final article, I write to you about another great reason to be a Marie Curie Student: the after school clubs! If you have ever watched a show involving teenagers at school, there schools seem to have awesome clubs. At Marie Curie, we encourage students to stay after school and gain more essential skills they can take with them into the real world. Joining clubs helps students build confidence, discover new passions, and make friends outside the typical classroom setting

Prologue: When I was 10 my aunt was in a tragic work accident. After the accident my cousin, Madeline was put into foster care. Of course my parents couldn’t leave her so they legally adopted her. Everything was fine at first and not much changed. The only difference was that my parents bought two of everything and I got a new person to play with. That was until Madeline got jealous. It didn’t make sense. She was basically the center of attention since she was grieving. Next

Enter the River if you wish, but that will cost you your identity. Chapter 1: Burnout “Calypso!” “CALYPSO!!” “What?!” I snapped. I prepared to dropkick whoever was bothering me, but saw Elysia propped up on my hospital bed. “The doctor told me to wake you up.” She smiled a toothy grin. “He says that you’re getting discharged today!” She hopped off the bed and did a little dance. “Now we can continue playing our game!” I looked around and frowned. My head was a bit fuzzy. “Ely

I wish you liked me the same. You think I’m weird. Don't you? I stare at the mirror, terrified of what I have become and scared of my own shadow. My skin feels too tight for my body. My wardrobe changed completely. I don't look the same as I did 3 months ago. My hair is curled and dyed. My figure looks different. Much different. While I still stare in the mirror, my stomach growls. I wonder why I changed myself for you? You see, I never thought of you as more than a friend

Chapter 1~ It has been 20 days without any food or water. I’m weak, tired, and barely holding on. The chest lid I used to be able to open without any effort is now too heavy. I have an infected wound and no one is around anymore. But today I heard someone, then I had hope. I was so sure that the noise would walk away and not find me that I started to cry softly, and that's when the chest lid opened and a moonshadow elf looked in and asked quietly, “Hey little one, what are

“The drum sound is horrific-no solos and the songs plain stink.” “They’re capable of much better.” “It sounds like an awful demo tape, full of really rubbish riffs.” If you’re well-versed in Metallica’s history, you’d be familiar with their eighth studio album St. Anger-and even more so with the immediate backlash that followed. Legendary American heavy metal band Metallica is one of the “big four” pioneers of thrash metal, topping charts and selling out albums consecutively

If you have been keeping up with the NBA playoffs, you would know that the Knicks are going on a generational run for a chance to win the championship. They currently secured their spot in the Eastern conference finals. The only other team as of now to do so is the reigning champions; The Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC). The Knicks are coming off a series against the Philadelphia 76ers. They have been rivals for a long time due to many conflicts between the players. Two years a

Chapter 1 Here in Xadia the world is split in two. On one side there are the human kingdoms and on the other are the elven villages. Back then humans and elves used to live in peace side by side but when the humans created dark magic, a type of magic that kills other living magical creatures. In the 2020’s, a lot of things happened, good and bad. But in this article, we will be talking about one of the best things to happen in the 2020’s, Spiderman 2! (Warning: spoilers ahead.) Story In my opinion, the story of a single-player game is one of the most important aspects. The story followed the two Spider-Men (Peter Parker and Miles Morales) constantly fighting villains, culminating in Peter having venom injected into him, and then Harry (Peter’s best friend) getting

Since Spring is here, let's get to know some flowers. You might see around : Tulips Did you know that tulips have over 3,000 registered varieties? Tulip colors actually have symbolism. Internal ~Alean~ I saw him and I swear my heart skipped a beat I swear. He looked so happy even though it was the first day of school. Like nothing concerned him. I would date him if he asked. ~Christian~ On the first day of school, when I walked into the classroom. This weird girl started to stare at me. I'll admit it, she was pretty but I don't think she would date me. ~Alean~ He bumped into me and I can promise you I have never felt so happy. This shirt is now my lucky shi

Oh music, you spill like rain across my thoughts, soft thunder stitching silence into sound, you braid the air with threads that can’t be caught, and plant your echoes deep beneath the ground. Oh music, you are a shadow of a flame, that flickers bright inside a broken night, a whisper wearing colors without name, that teaches the dark how to remember light. Oh music, you are a river made of time, that bends through memories i cannot see, you carry every heartbeat, every rh

Manjeet Singh was a very special boy who liked chicken curry. His mommy and daddy wanted him to be a neurosurgeon! He thought it was kind of stereotypical, but it was a part of his culture after all…so he packed his 1 pound fish into a suitcase. Along with his very very good math test score (99–but his daddy was mad.) He immigrated to America, but the security guard took out all of his pakoras and samosas. Therefore, he lost 30 pounds on the flight because he had nothing to
