Chocolate Banana Bread

I recently made this recipe and I really like it, so I wanted to share it with you guys. It is easy to make and has a chewy and moist texture. Banana bread is good to eat for breakfast, lunch, dessert, and snack! This recipe makes a loaf of banana bread.

Ingredients

  1. 3 large bananas

  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda (5.7 grams)

  3. â…“ cup of vegetable oil (73 grams)

  4. â…” cup of granulated sugar (133 grams)

  5. 2 large eggs

  6. ¼ teaspoon salt (1.5 grams)

  7. 1 cup all purpose flour (120 grams)

  8. ½ cup of cocoa powder (50 grams)

Optional

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (170 grams)

  • Nuts or berries

Substitutions you can use

  • Instead of vegetable oil: You can use any type of oil, or applesauce and mashed bananas

  • Instead of eggs: You can use 1/4 cup (60 grams) of yogurt or buttermilk for each egg. You can also use applesauce.

Instructions

  1. Put the bananas into a bowl and use a fork to mash them. They should be finely mashed.

  2. Add the baking soda, oil, sugar, eggs, salt, flour, and cocoa powder to the bananas and mix with a spatula or wooden spoon.

  3. Add in the chocolate chips (if you are adding them).

  4. Line your pan with parchment paper and pour the batter in. It doesn’t really matter what type, as long as it isn’t too big. I used a 9 x 5 pan.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

  6. Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes. Use a toothpick or fork and poke it in the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, then it is ready to eat!

  7. Enjoy!
