Mysteries of Xadia (Part 2)

Chapter 1~

It has been 20 days without any food or water. I’m weak, tired, and barely holding on. The chest lid I used to be able to open without any effort is now too heavy. I have an infected wound and no one is around anymore. But today I heard someone, then I had hope. I was so sure that the noise would walk away and not find me that I started to cry softly, and that's when the chest lid opened and a moonshadow elf looked in and asked quietly,

“Hey little one, what are you doing here?”

Knowing that she might actually be my way out of this horrible place I managed to whisper,

“Th-they trapped me here to kill me.”

After the elf heard that she muttered under her breath those horrible humans… Then she scooped me up into her arms and for the first time in a long time I felt safe. As she started to climb out she asked me,

“How old are you?”

Knowing she wouldn’t hurt me I said,

“3 months.”

“3 months?!” Yelped the elf, “Wow, your powers aren’t even fully developed yet. You couldn’t even protect yourself from those pesky humans.”

“Yea.” I said before drifting off to sleep.

Chapter 2~

The light breeze was nice against my face, but when I opened my eyes I was falling high in the air passing by empty hammocks. Terrified, I started to scream and at the bottom on the floor was a human with a staff of a sky elf, who ran out the door screaming the name Rayla. As I hurled closer to the ground I figured out I fell off of my hammock and that I was in a Celestial elf tower in the sleeping room. The floor kept on getting closer and closer until I had seemed to stop falling and was floating above the floor, I started to sob because I had no idea what was going on until the same elf from the ship ran into the room and fell to her knees in shock.

“Wha-whats happening?” I sobbed. “Why am I floating?! Why is there a human here!”

Just then an earthblood elf had walked into the room too, walked up to the moonshadow elf and whispered something to her. Then she replied saying,

“I found her yesterday and she said she’s 3 months old. A Superluna elf. I think she’s starting to develop her powers.” 

After that she walked up to me and picked me up saying,

“ The human is safe, he won't hurt you, my name is Rayla and the other elf is Terrestris or Terry for short, and the human is Callum. They won’t hurt you. At this point I thought that next the dragon prince will magically come alive then a kid walked in with the dragon prince trailing behind him. I pointed at this madness, unable to speak with my mouth wide wide open. The the kid said,

“Who’s that, Callum and Rayla? Why does she seem to be so scared of me and Zym?”

The Rayla said to him,

“I found her yesterday in an abandoned pirate ship and she doesn’t yet know that Zym is alive, also I think she’s afraid of you because she kinda hates humans.”

Just at the moment I didn’t hear them talking because I decided that i’m not gonna let the future dragon king die so I let go of Rayla and took her butterfly blades from her and started charging at the kid with pure rage while he started running away screaming for help from Callum and Rayla, but i’m to fast for them but as I was chasing him we ran into another room where a ton of Celestial elves were chit chatting then suddenly watching us and erupting into chaos. I didn’t care so I continued to chase him until the elves started trying to stop me which angered me because I was trying to get rid of the kid keeping the dragon prince hostage, but there were just too many elves keeping me back and they were just too strong so I gave up and they dragged me back to Rayla like I was the prisoner.

Chapter 3~

When they found Rayla and Callum panting on the floor they all start blabbering about how I was trying to kill someone with Rayla’s butterfly blades, so I took that chance to escape but instead I ended up walking on the ceiling so I listened to what they were saying and I caught stuff like one of the elves blabbering,

“Why did she….. She almost killed someone!”

And Rayla saying,

“She just….. and ran!...... Tried to catch….. Too fast”

After what felt like an eternity of fighting they finally stopped because I was missing and looked up. After a split second they all started to chase me while I ran trying to find the kid again but I didn’t so I just admitted defeat and got dragged back to Rayla, but that was a horrible choice because she started yelling at me saying stuff like,

“Why did you do that! You almost killed him!”

But I don’t know who “him” is so I just said,

“I was saving the dragon prince from the human kid keeping him hostage.”

Then Callum started speaking saying, 

“Thats my brother! And he wasn’t keeping him hostage he was just walking around and Zym followed him! Also his name is Ezran” 

“Oh.” I said, “More humans! JUST GREAT!” 

At that moment my hands went on fire and I started panicking running everywhere and getting everything on fire when Callum was screaming,

“Stand still!”

But I didn’t listen but I should have because next thing I know he sprayed everything with water. I started screaming,

“EWWWWWW! DARK MAGIC GET IT OFF OF ME!!!! YOU CAN”T USE ME FOR DARK MAGIC EVER AGAIN, YOUR THE REASON I CAN’T EVER FLY AGAIN! YOU ALWAYS CUT ME FOR MY BLOOD FOR YOUR STUPID MAGIC, AND YOU LEFT ME IN THAT BOX TO DIE.!”

Then I ran into Rayla’s arms because she’s the only person I trusted but she seemed shocked as she picked me up and she was starting at Callum whispering stuff like,

“Do humans really do horrible stuff like that? Do they?” She passed me to Terry, then she just broke screaming at Callum saying stuff like,

“DO YOU HUMANS REALLY DO THAT STUFF CUTTING OFF THE WINGS OF THE RAREST ELF SPECIES TO USE IT FOR DARK MAGIC DO YOU TORTURE ALL MAGICAL CREATURES LIKE THAT?” 

Then she dropped to her knees and started crying and apologizing saying,

“I know you’d never do that, I'm so sorry Callum! I’m so sorry!’’

Then he walked up to her and said,

“It’s okay Rayla, I know you only said that because you felt bad for her.”

Then he pecked her cheek and sat down next to her comforting her. And he also said,

“We’ll go back to your village, Ethari, and Runnan tomorrow.”

A Moonshadow elf village? I grew up in one with an older sister who looks exactly like Rayla and my dads, Ethari and Runnan, but then it got destroyed by humans and they took me and I never saw any of them again. It's been 3 human years. They took me away when I was 1 week old in elf years. 

“Well it’s getting late, we should get some sleep”, said dark magic Callum, “Also what's the little devils name?”

“My name is Stella.” I said grumply.

“Oh your name is Stella? What elf form are you mostly?” Questioned Rayla. Me just wanting to get this over with said unwillingly,

“Moonshadow, like you.” Rayla seemed to be surprised. Then she said,

“I used to have a younger sister who was a Superluna elf and her name was Stella.”

“Wait.”I said, “Do you have 2 dads? Named Runnan, and Ethari?” Rayla seemed to be amazed, she said, “Yes!”  And started to tear up then she said,

“You're my long lost sister! It's me, your older sister Rayla. Do you remember me?

Chapter 4~

“Wait you are? You're my older sister? But how could you still want to remember me when you almost got your arm chopped off trying to save me?” I said as I started to whimper.

“Oh don’t cry. It was fine, I barely got scratched because of the protection spell Ethari put on me, but I was protecting you because it doesn’t work on Superluna elves.” Older sister Rayla was basically bragging at this point. And I was sick of it so I decided say,

“So if I'm your sister I can hurt you and not get in trouble right?”

I started to walk towards hurt and I still had her butterfly blades because I found a smaller version of them in her bag and I flipped them open and started to charge at her and she took out hers and flipped them open and we started to fight. Callum was screaming and ran out the door to get help and I screamed at Rayla saying,

“THIS IS SO FUN I HAVEN’T FOUGHT ANYONE IN SO LONGGGGGGGGGG. DOES ETHARI AND RUNNAN KNOW I’M ALIVE?” And Rayla replied saying, “UMM….. ABOUT THAT THEY GHOSTED YOU BECAUSE YOUR FLOWER WAS STILL FLOUTING BUT IT WAS HALF SUNKEN, AND THEY BELIEVED THEY USED DARK MAGIC ON YOU TO TURN YOU EVIL.” 

“Oh..” I said glumly and I stopped fighting. “They think I'm evil? How about I give them evil! Let's pull a prank!” Rayla seemed excited about the idea and agreed almost instantly, just when Callum came in with 5 Celestial elves just to find us sleeping on top of each other, but we were fake sleeping to see his reaction and the elves did not seem happy and told him he was seeing things and left rolling their eyes. Just then tiredness hit me and I fell asleep.

Chapter 5~

When I woke up it seemed we were moving. I was on top of the moonlion and we were walking across the frozen lake, and walking next to me was Callum and Rayla leaning on each other as if they were a thing, and behind me was the dragon capturer and Zym was flying in the air.

“Where are we going?” I moaned, And Rayla and Callum looked and answered,

“To the moonshadow elf village.” Yep they definitely were a thing, because they answered in perfect synchronization and early in the morning when they thought I was sleeping I was half away and managed to see them pecking each other on the cheek. Gross if you ask me.

“Wait, we're going back to the village? It’s been so long. I wonder what it looks like now! I can’t wait to rejoin Ethari’s cub scouts again!” I said excitedly.  Just then a blackbird or what humans call it a “crow” flew towards us with a letter in it’s beak. It flew over and plopped it on my head and it rolled down into my hands so I opened it. It said, “Dear King Ezran, You should return to Katolis as soon as possible because someone who should be dead has came back and turned himself in. It’s Viren and Caludia their back and they brought someone named Arravos. Please come as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Crown Guard Soren.”

“Viren, Claudia and Arravos?! And this baby is a king?! Has the world gone mad!?!!?!?!??!?!?!?! This is nuts!”I shouted.

Terry was whispering stuff like,

“Viren is alive even after falling off of the storm spire? And he turned himself, Claudia, and Arravos in?” And Rayla answered me saying, “Katolis is one of the 4 human kingdoms. How do you know Claudia, Viren, and Arravos?”

Then realization hit her, “Don’t tell me they're the ones who destroyed our home and took you and tortured you.”  I was so mad how all of us were somehow connected but I kept my cool and said, “They’er the ones who took me burned Moonshadow village and tortured me.”

Terry seemed like he was gonna cry.

“What’s wrong Uncle Terry?” I asked He was basically trembling when he was speaking he said, “I used to be Claudia’s girlfriend. I never knew she would be so cruel. I was so glad  I left her when I did because I feel horrible!”

I was still wondering why Rayla is dating a human who uses dark magic so I asked,

“Why do you date a disgusting dark magic human, Rayla?” Then she answered and said,

“Well he doesn’t use dark magic first of all, and second of all he’s not disgusting and thats rude to say Stella, and he and use primal magic without a primal stone or source.”

“How?” I asked. Then Callum jumped in and said enthusiastically,

“How about I show you instead of telling you!?” So I got off of the moonlion and started following him. He did a simple thunderbolt spell so I copied him but it ended up ten times stronger than him and we had to run for our lives across the frozen lake because it cracked and started to break from the huge thunderbolt that landed down.

“CALLUM!!!!”Screamed Rayla, “WHY WOULD YOU TEACH HER THAT WHEN WERE ON A FRAGILE ICEY LAKE?!Stella don’t listen to Uncle Callum anymore because he will make you do bad things like bad there.” She said out of breath from running.  

I’m clueless because use Superluna elves have no sense of direction so I have no idea where Moonshadow village is at all. So I said,

“Don’t ask me for direction. I’m clueless, I don't even know where we are.” “Okay so where's the map?”Asked Ezran.

“I think it's in my bag. Let me check.” Callum said as he started digging through his bag.

“It’s not here!” Callum shouted, “Where is that map?!”

“I think I left it back at the Starscraper.” I said innocently

“YOU WHAT?!” Shouted Callum, “ You left the map at the Starscraper?! That was the only way to find our way back!”

“Don’t worry I remember the way, Callum, I'll take Stella, Terry, and our ride back to Moonshadow village and you could fly back to Katolis with Ezran and we’ll catch up with you at Katolis once the village knows that Stella is alive.” Said Rayla,

Callum seemed baffled with the idea but agreed and said,

“Okay, just be careful because Stella here is one powerful elf mage, make sure she doesn’t blow up all of Xadia.”

“Yeah sure lets get going. Bye Callum!! See back at Katolis!” Shouted Rayla as we started walking towards the direction of Moonshadow village. It’s been like 5 hours of walking and every time I ask Rayla she says we’re almost there, and when I ask Uncle Terry he says that we’re nowhere near close and I'm not sure which one of them is telling the truth. After like 10 minutes I told Rayla,

“My legs hurt so much. I can’t even feel them.” Then she said, “Ask Uncle Terry to carry you.”

“But even Uncle Terry is tired.” I said, “He’s riding vines.” I pointed towards him sliding over the ground sleeping on a huge amount of vines.

“Do what he’s doing then.” Rayla said, “Or fly.”

“I can’t copy him because my vines turn into snakes and I can’t fly because my wings are injured. Do you not remember the ship and the lake?!” I whined to Rayla.

Then she gave in and picked me up. I was very light anyway. Then we continued the journey until night when it was too dark. But something was wrong with the moon on the top part of it, it was turning red. Rayla seemed to be worried about it and was whispering to Uncle Terry saying stuff like,

“Oh no… A full Blood moon… We might have to keep her unconscious till it ends… Young Superluna elves become overly powerful during blood moons, too strong. The huge amount of power can kill them or make them go rogue. So should we once she falls asleep?”

Then Uncle Terry whispered back,

“I don’t know, I mean if it's for her own good then sure but how? Doesn’t she have high senses? Won’t she know that we’re gonna knock her out?”

“It’s fine she’s still very young she won’t know because when she sleeps it’s like she travels to another universe.” Rayla whispered back. I didn’t care what they were talking about but then they started walking towards me with an old look on their faces. I smelled a soothing lavender smell and noticed Uncle Terry was doing magic, then my vision started to blur then I hit the floor and saw black.

Chapter 6~

When I woke up we were moving in the forest. I was on Uncle Terry’s back and then I felt like I was getting stabbed in the heart. I screamed then Rayla and Uncle Terry started going crazy, the pain was so unbearable my entire body was shaking. Then it all stopped, the pain, the shaking, and the loud ringing in my ears, it all stopped at once like someone pressed a pause button. I stood up and wobbled a bit but I didn’t feel the same as I used to, everything sounded a whole lot louder, I felt stronger, and I was able to see in the darkness as if it was daytime.

“Stella, are you okay?” Rayla asked worried.

“Yeah. I’m fine but why is it so bright?”I said while squinting. Uncle Terry chimed in saying,

“Hey Rayla, what’s wrong with her eyes?”

“My eyes?! What's wrong with my eyes?! Am I dying?!” I said as I started to panic.

“Stella! Calm down your fine. Ethari said this might happen during the bloodmoon. He told me when you were born after our mother named you Stella. If a Superluna elf survives the bloodmoon they evolve and get rare powers only a few Superluna elves have. But the nightsight is common in Moonshadow elves so the bloodmoon probably causes that power to activate.” Said Rayla. I didn’t really pay attention to what she was saying but I heard “evolve” and “rare powers”. 

"Hey Rayla?” Uncle Terry said, “Does her evolution have any downsides?”

“Umm. I think so, give me a second to think.” Rayla said, “I think the evolution makes her hearing more sensitive to sounds we can’t hear but her hearing definitely becomes more sensitive like by a lot, and I think her powers are gonna start to come around very soon so we might have to teach her how to control them.” I started to look around because Rayla kept on going “blah blah blah” and I spotted Moonshadow village and started dragging Rayla and Uncle Terry towards it. After about thirty minutes of walking and dragging we finally got there and MISSION PRANK was now activated. While Uncle Terry went off with Runnan to harvest berries, me and Rayla went to Ethari in his weapon making room because even though I was ghosted he could still me through reflections and mirrors. First I turned on the faucet while Rayla distracted him, and when he went to look at the “mysterious” faucet I picked up some knives and threw it at him. I missed most of them and he caught the rest and walked towards the mirror and stood in front of it while moving it around as if he knew it was me and was trying to find me. Then he spotted me and stared into the mirror, then tears started rolling down his cheeks and he said something that I couldn’t make out. He then said a spell unghosting me for a small amount of time.

“Stella…” He said, “I thought you were gone.” Then he started to sob.

“Well prank failed.” I said boringly to Rayla. Ethari started to walk towards me then he put his hand on my cheek.

“Stell.” He said again, “What happened to you? What did those humans do to you?”

I felt tears starting to build up in my eyes then I hugged him so tight he couldn’t breath.

“I missed you!” I sobbed, “All they ever did was take my blood then they left me to die. And now I don’t know what's wrong with me ever since the blood moon outside right now.”

I dropped to my knees still sobbing and Ethari crouched down and put his hand on my shoulder then he said,

“Stella. I don’t know what’s going on either but we will figure it out together. You, me, Runnan, Rayla, Callum and Ezran the humans, and Terry. We all have your backs.”

Just then Runnan walked through the door and gasped with his hands over his mouth then he started to cry.

“Stella! I thought you were dead ever since you disappeared. How are you here right now? And what happened to you?” Said Runnan. As the unghosting spell started to fade Etharia started explaining everything to Runnan, then Rayla told me to follow her. I followed her to the leader of the village who freed me of the ghosting spell and I was finally to be back home for real. Then we set off for Katolis.
