What is Winterfest?

Winterfest is a month-long celebration in school of the holiday, school spirit, and a friendly school-wide competition. There's commonly a new challenge each day, so paying attention to MS 158’s #morningmeeting every day is crucial to finding out directions for each daily challenge. The homeroom with the most points by grade at the end of Winterfest wins a cookies and cocoa party. The amount of points a homeroom earns is by percentage of the class participated, so small homerooms have the same opportunities as homerooms with more students. The door decorating contest lasts for two weeks before judging, and some homerooms have already started their decorations! Be a good sport and remember, the most important thing is to have fun!

Below is the calendar for Winterfest:

So far, the leading winners in each grade are:

6th grade- 621, with 838 points (homeroom teacher: Math teacher Ms. LaScala)

7th grade- 721, with 785 points (homeroom teacher:  ELA teacher Mr. Ng, who is also our newspaper club manager, congrats!)

8th grade- 821, with 658 points (homeroom teacher: Math teacher Ms. Brown)
