A new era of Art: Digital Art (also known as Graphic Art)

M.S.158 has many important subjects such as ELA, Math, and Science, but they also find it important for students to develop art skills. In this school there are many art class choices like Graphic Art, Dance, Visual Art, Chorus, and Band. This year M.S.158 made a new art class called Digital Art (the old name was Graphic Art) which is about coding.

Coding is a very important skill to have! AI is getting very common, with most people using it. However, AI is made by humans with a lot of codes and this class helps students develop their coding.

Coding can let students have more opportunity in the future, in the future AI will be a lot more common. For example Adobe AI can help people make a whole slide deck of work. Many jobs will disappear after that time, but programmers will never disappear, in order to be a programmer they have to know coding.

Coding could also be fun, coding could let students learn about how they make games, and video. Whatever students want they could make with coding, if they actually learn about coding after they get into College they could actually make some small games, or become a technology teacher in the future.

When student was coding they were making new stuff they could make however they want, for example if the student is making a game, they could make how hard is the game, what is the game rule, and how to play.

A student in coding class said: “When I learn coding I really want to know more about it because I always think that the stuff that I create is not good enough because the graph is not clear, it is not interesting, I really want to learn more about coding, I think it could help my future.
