TWICE MAKES ME FEEL SPECIAL
*Welcome to another TWICE review by Sarah Sachdeva and Sarah Yu! We have attached full access to their album (featured on YouTube) in a seven song playlist (customizable on the video sidebar). Feel free to listen along while you read these reviews and make your own judgment on their songs!
ONCEs (TWICE fandom name) say that “Feel Special” is TWICE’s best album. How about you?
“Their best album it has the best title track and b sides” - Meghan

“FEEL SPECIAL”: “Feel Special” is the title track and tells the stories of the TWICE girls before they were a part of TWICE. The chorus speaks about how “you make me feel special.” This song was written by JYP, (Park Jin-Young), TWICE’s producer, in 2018. That year, all of the girls were very tired because they were so busy all of the time, so JYP wrote the song to make them feel better. Dahyun’s rap in the song was one of the highlights and “Feel Special” is TWICE’s first song that wasn’t opened by Nayeon (TWICE’s center). Chaeyoung opening the song made the listeners love it immediately.
“RAINBOW”: (Written by Nayeon.) As one of TWICE’s best songs, it describes how you should work hard so you can reap the awards. “You can get to the purple line” is sung by Nayeon and Tzuyu, delivering the high notes. The song also has a cute, upbeat rap that will make you want to listen to the song repeatedly. Nayeon’s high notes in the background add to the feel of the song. The lyrics are honestly the best and have a different topic besides love. It talks about self-confidence and how you should always be brave and “focus on yourself, don’t lock yourself up.”
“GET LOUD”: “Get Loud” is about a girl boldly telling a boy that he is arrogant and that “even sparing a glance is a waste.” The members sing with power and draw their fans in with their voices. The song was written by Jihyo, and she totally owned the song with her voice. She opens the song with her voice, which really suits the song with its power. “TRICK IT”: “Trick It” was written by one of TWICE’s rappers, Dahyun. It features a gentle melody and is about how someone is telling white lies to her love to keep him happy. The song features a constant beat that serves as the pulse of the song. The repetition of “Trick It” in the chorus is very catchy and makes listeners want to listen to the song more and more.
“LOVE FOOLISH”: “Love Foolish” is such an experience opening with high bass and a nice instrumental. This is different from most of their songs because it is more of a deep tone. Chaeyoung’s voice here is so amazing and she utilizes her beautiful, deep voice. Dahyun and Momo’s rap is also so memorable. I also love Nayeon’s chorus with the high notes. The lyrics talk about a foolish love and how they both know it's wrong. This would be the song I recommend from the album because of how unique it is and what an experience it is to listen to. “21:29”: “21:29” was written by all the members and it is the only TWICE song that Tzuyu (TWICE’s youngest member) helped write. The song was opened by Chaeyoung, TWICE’s lead rapper, which drew fans in from the very beginning. The song lyrics talk about how it is a gift for someone’s love and how he is everything that she wants. The song has a gentle melody and an overall lullaby feeling. The vocals in this song were amazing, and they are addictive to listen to.
“BREAKTHROUGH” (Korean Version): They ate as always. “Breakthrough” was one of TWICE’s best songs in Japanese, so fans were very happy to find out it was being made in Korean. “TWICE’s best Japanese songs are “Breakthrough”, “Wake Me Up”, “Perfect World”, and “Doughnut.” -Arora
It honestly isn’t one I come back to, as I usually listen to the Japanese version.

TWICE continues to be an amazing group, despite their differences. “21:29” would have been a perfect end to the album, rather than “BREAKTHROUGH”, but was impressive nonetheless. We hope to review more from TWICE’s best in the near future. This album is surely one of TWICE’s best albums. Since it’s women's history, let's honor TWICE!
