Murals

These were put up last year. Marie Curie started a new “Mural club,” which met up to paint colorful murals on the first floor of the building. Some murals are not finished, but it looks like they are coming along well. Some murals you can find on the walls are colorful triangles leading to the auditorium, “Together we create success” written in graffiti-like paint, different kinds of sports balls leading to the gym, and a lunch tray near the doors to the lunchroom.
Lunch

Speaking of lunch, the lunchroom has changed a lot. There are new tables, such as rectangular ones with regular chairs, booths, and circular tables with connecting seats. The place you get lunch also changed - there is new equipment for the lunchladies. It looks more like a supermarket now, with shelves of food and milk. New rules have also been set, and with the groans that came with them not a lot of people are happy about it. You are no longer allowed to eat ANYTHING, not even milk, outside. They don’t open the outside doors until 15 minutes into the period, and there is only one lunch line now. It takes half the period just to get food!
Doors

Along with the murals, another way color has entered the building is with the doors. They have been repainted black, yellow, and red along with the marie curie logo to show school spirit. The colors on the doors keep changing though, going from blue to yellow or red; then black then red again! Now, it’s a combo with a black bottom and red or yellow top.
Opinions on the lunchroom
“I like the new tables, however people fight for the booths, and they don’t seat a lot of people.” -Abby Z.
“You know where to get lunch easier, and everything looks new. But everything is way too cramped.” Alana O.
“I think they’re cool. It reminds me of high school musical.” -Xiena V.
