To all the students at Marie Curie, the theater club is about to put on their annual production! This year, the show chosen is High School Musical Jr, so not only will you see people overcoming stereotypes and “breaking free,” from social pressure, but there’s also connections between many characters and humor all around. Our production has a variety of people who are INSANELY talented, and will bring this production to life.

To begin, let’s talk about some of the main roles and the people playing them:

Gabriella Montez: Played by Lily McCabe, one of the best singers in the whole production! Her dancing is talented, and her acting is impeccable!

Troy Bolton: Played by Yianni Noorazi, an amazing actor who displays an array of emotions in the show perfectly. From being the star basketball player to playing Romeo in the school production!

Sharpay Evans: Played by Sydney Duong, who plays the part of a sassy, talented twin who just wants to be the lead of Juliet and Romeo.

Ryan Evans: Played by Jaymeson Vasquez, who just radiates the energy of the sidelined twin.

Chad Danforth: Played by Jacob Lundgren, who plays the part of a cocky, hilarious Jock and secretly has a crush on Taylor McKessie. He’s also Troy’s best friend.

Taylor McKessie: Played by Alana Sadikot, an insanely good dancer, who also happens to be the dance coach! She has great leadership qualities in not only the show, but in real life! She shows the smart side and the confident side of Taylor!

Mrs. Darbus: Played by Lukia Cassidy, who has the best teacher energy ever. She’s electric onstage, and has the confidence and flourish for Ms. Darbus.

Coach Bolton: Played by Eshal Imam, who never fails to act out any scene perfectly. She brings energy to the show. Not only does she have fatherly energy, she’s also pretty scary onstage when acting as the coach! She’s a perfect fit for the role!

Kelsi Neilsen: Played by Amrita Hans, who has the best acting skills for her shy, and eventually rebellious character. She does an amazing job expressing every emotion with animated faces that is perfect for theater!

Jack Scott: Played by Emi Yamaguchi, the best announcer ever! She plays the character of a charismatic Brainiac who has the tiniest crush on Kelsi.

Zeke Baylor: Played by Luke Boden, who’s natural acting brings light to the entire stage.

Martha Cox: Played by Vivianna Carrano, who brings sweetness to the whole show! Her “breaking free” is inspirational, and she’s the sweetest member hands down.

Not only this, but our ensemble has done an amazing job of putting the whole show together! Special thanks to our choreographers: Alana Sadikot (dance coach), Jaylin Tabares, Xiena Vasquez, and Eshal Imam for choreographing some of our amazing dances, and to our stage crew, for getting all the props and doing the lighting and curtains for the show .Of course, Ms. Carlucci and Ms. Allen, our directors, deserve the biggest praise for helping us learn the songs, dances, harmonies, and acting!
