Everyone knows about the MS158 Robotics Club, with 18 people picked at the start of the year! All through September, we’ve been working on our project: “Unearthed”, discovering what archaeologists do and the problems that they face. Using Lego robots, we devised a solution, using AI technology and feedback from professionals.

After months of research, we devised a solution to our problem: poor photography and lack of intercommunication. Our solution was improving imaging with 3D cameras and communication between devices, by making an enhanced mini AGV, an autonomous ground vehicle, which contains:

  • A 360-degree rotating camera

  • Increased photogrammetry

  • A.I. inter-communication through Moltbook (an AI platform)

To find out all these problems and get help with our solution, we contacted some experts who helped us a lot in this, like an archaeologist named Dr. Adam Aja. We got a lot of information from him that helped us on our road to the championships!

So, how DID we make it to the championships? It was a combined effort of our robot games, innovation project, and core values presentations! The judges were VERY impressed with our combined efforts, and we were able to get 2nd place for the Golden Ticket, giving us a one way ticket to the FINALS!

The location for the finals is at Gotham Tech High School, in Woodside. It takes place on Sunday, March 15th, from 8am - 4:00pm. The finals will be MUCH more competitive, but exactly like our competition before. We’ll have a presentation, robot games, and more. We all are going in more confident, and ready to win.
