Thrifting

What is thrifting? What's your opinion on thrifting? To answer the question, thrifting is shopping and buying second-hand items. There are many different ways to thrift, either online or in stores, even garage sales. Thrifting is amazing for anyone who wants to save some money and has benefits to it as well.

There are multiple ways to thrift, such as online or shopping in stores. Some popular examples of thrifting online are eBay, Depop, thredUP, Poshmark, Vinted, Etsy, and way way more. Some popular in-store shops are Goodwill, Buffalo Exchange, and The Salvation Army, those are just some examples of popular places to thrift. You can buy second-hand goods from local small stores that sell them or garage sales near you and thrifting adds the benefit of buying things for cheaper. If you want to participate in someone else’s shopping haul or spree, you can sell your unwanted items on any of these apps or go to a thrift shop, you might get a quick buck.

Here are some tips you might want to consider if it’s your first time. Search where the thrift shops are near you or make an account for the previously mentioned apps for second-hand shopping. Look at the clothes CLEARLY, you don’t want to buy something that has a big stain, ripped seams, or something you don’t see yourself wearing. Wash the clothes, or clean the items once you buy them, you never know who touched them. Research what the shops specialize in, do they sell exclusively clothes, a mix of clothes and items, or just some collector's items and objects? Sometimes sizes aren't so accurate, if there’s a dressing room available try on the clothes if you can, or if you're digitally shopping, check if the seller has measurements in the photos or mentioned anywhere else.

After reading this, what do you still think about thrifting? Perhaps your opinion changed? Thrifting is wonderful especially when there are landfills of unwanted clothes. Thrifting is a good option if you want to add new stuff to your wardrobe and if you want to be ethical about the earth. There are tons of benefits to thrifting, and maybe you should try thrifting too.
