~Alean~
I saw him and I swear my heart skipped a beat I swear. He looked so happy even though it was the first day of school. Like nothing concerned him. I would date him if he asked.
~Christian~
On the first day of school, when I walked into the classroom. This weird girl started to stare at me. I'll admit it, she was pretty but I don't think she would date me.
~Alean~
He bumped into me and I can promise you I have never felt so happy. This shirt is now my lucky shirt!!
~Christian~
I bumped into her today and I felt so bad. She was so happy till we collided. She was smiling and laughing. I hope she can forgive me.
~Alean~
He hasn't spoken to me in so long. I missed when we would talk all the time. It was only after he bumped into me he stopped talking to me. I hate that he stopped.
~Christian~
I love her so much. I hate that I stopped talking to her. I wish that I had the confidence to talk to her.
~Alean~
I wish he would just try and talk to me. I see him all the time laughing and giggling with his friends and all I think about is where I went wrong.
~Christian~
That's it, I'm going to go talk to her.

“Hey Alean. Can I sit here?” “Oh hi Christian, Of course. Come take a seat!””Thanks!” They sat there in awkward silence just eating their food and existing next to each other. Christian mustered up the courage to ask one question he has been dying to get an answer to. “Hey Alean. I'm sorry bumped into you.” Christian managed to mumble out. “Sorry I can't hear you, what did you say?” Alean said, genuinely confused. “I said, I'm sorry bumped into you.” Christian said a little louder. “Oh don't even worry about it. It didn't even hurt.” Alean said with so much warmth in her voice Christian wanted to keep talking to her forever. Who wouldn't? Alean was so welcoming no matter the circumstances. She would always let people in even when she needed them most.
(Three days later Alean in the girls bathroom sitting on the floor crying quietly.) “Alean are you ok?” One of her “friends” asks. “Oh yeah I’m ok. What's up!” Alean responded happily. Later the girl spent 10 minutes rambling about all the issues of her life. Alean was always the friend that floated around. Never invited to anything and always stayed home. They only asked her for help when they wanted advice. Her only true friend was a girl named Cynthia. Cynthia always stayed with Alean no matter what happened between them. Alean always had Cynthia and Cynthia always had Alean.
Christian walked home. Head hanging low. No words left to speak. He unlocked the door to his home. Dirty, stinky, disgusting. His dad blacked out, looking like a mess, and smelling worse than their home. Christian instinctively reached for the light switch but knew it would never turn on. Just like all the other appliances in his home. He walked past his dad who was on the couch. The bottles and cans crunching under his feet. His dad jolted awake and grabbed Christans arm pulling him to the ground and the cans crushing under his 50 pound body. Christian was a bony kid. No meat on his bones. He would always ration his food and bring half back to his home and hid it in his room, the only “clean” part of his home.
He woke up from off the ground, his dad hovering over him. “Now why would you do that?” Then he got kicked in the ribs. Christian crawled his way up the stairs hand over his ribs. When he finally reached his room he collapsed on the floor curled up into a little ball to take up as little space as he possibly could. Even though he never took up any space, then he fell asleep. When he woke, he tip toed out his room and home onto the street. Outside the wind blew slightly with the dim glow of the moon on his face, then a shooting star appeared, illuminating the sky. He wished for something he knew would never change.“I wish for a better family” 15 minutes later when he was about to head inside, he saw another one. Bigger, bolder, brighter. “I wish for Alean to love me back” He went back inside. Not knowing that his dream would later come soon
PART TWO 💗
Room 620

I wish I could talk to her but I have so much on my plate right now. With everything going on at home I can't have more in my life
Christian walked into school with the biggest smile on his face even though he had the worst home life. Maybe it was the worst night ever. He was thrown around like a doll . He hated everything about his home. The way the light flickered when he opened the door. The way it always smelled like booze and vomit. The way the sink water would never run. The way the fridge was always empty, stomach always growling. He associated hate with love and created an invisible shield around his heart so it wouldn't be broken again. He saw Alean smiling which made him smile too. When she smiled it seemed that the world was better. Even if it wasn't. In fact to him it was the opposite.
Alean was sitting in her seat smiling as normal. Looking pretty as usual but she never knew that. She never knew that someone loved her. Christian did though. Christn loved her so much it hurt. But he would never show it. Or admit it… Seeing Alean made his heart fluter for a minute. Even if it was just for a second, it was his favorite time of day. Like ever. He loved how when she looked at the sun she had golden speckles in her eyes and when she smiled it was brighter than anything in the world. Seeing her happy made him happy too.
The school day was over and Christian walked home with only one thing on his mind. Alean. When everyone separated and it was Christian walking by himself. He started humming to her favorite song. He walked into his home and was happy for just about one second. When he walked into he was immediately hit by an empty beer can and the sharp stinging words “Why are you so happy? Stop smiling now!” Christian walked to his room dragging his feet on the carpeted floor covered in failed attempts to cover vomit. He sat on his floor and broke down. He packed a bag of everything he needed and ran to the only place he knew by heart. Aleans house.
