It feels great to be back in school!

Well it’s November now which means we have officially been in school for two months. It has been a mix of emotions, happy, excited, sad, angry, stressed and more! I mean come to think of it, this is a pretty big year. The 2022-2023 school year is our first normal school year since 2020! What have been some bright moments? What took you some time to get used to? What were you most excited about when coming back?

As a 7th grader, the school year is off to a great start so far. What are other 7th graders opinions?

“I was most excited to be back to school, meet new friends and also see old friends!” says Stephanie Chen of class 702. Some of her brightest moments so far are when she first found out that she was in the same class as many of her friends from 6th grade. Overall, this year for Stephanie has been pretty good.

Similarly, Caitlyn Ng of class 706 said that some bright moments of this year have been getting hundreds and when she can understand the work. Also this year for Maya Gawish has been pretty good so far! She said that school has been pretty fun and it is even better than being at home.

Now with every new school year there is always something new that you have to get used to. For these three students it was no different. Caitlyn said that something that took time to get used to was the fact that she is just in 7th grade overall. Now, there are students that are younger than her and other 7th graders. For Stephanie, it was more about seeing people she hadn’t seen in a long time. Summer break can feel long and seeing all the people you haven’t seen for a few months can take some time to get used to! What took Maya some time to get used to is completely different! She said that she had to really organize herself because she wanted to make sure she submits everything on time!

Although during summer break it is nice and relaxing there is always stuff you look forward to when you return in September! Maya was most excited about the fact that she could see her friends everyday! Plus it is exciting to meet and get to know your new homeroom! Stephanie was excited about pretty much the same thing! She was excited to meet new friends and hang out with her old ones! Similarly to Maya and Stephanie, Caitlyn was excited to be with her friends during the school day. But she was also excited to join a bunch of the clubs the school has to offer!

In all, going back to school is always a mix of emotions and for different people they all feel different emotions. There are bright moments such as hanging out with friends. Things that take time to get used to like figuring out a good schedule. And finally something to look forward to, like clubs or meeting new people!
