Mothers day. A day where people all over the world celebrate the love and work mothers put into taking care of us. It doesn’t even have to be your mom. It could be your aunt, your guardian, or just someone who means a lot to you. Here are some ideas of activities you can do with that person.

One idea is custom jewelry making. You can use beads or clay to create cute bracelets or necklaces. Maybe y’all even match! If you want to take the jewelry making a step further, you could try pressed flower pendants. You can find small glass charms or resin kits to preserve a tiny bloom from a bouquet you gave them, turning a temporary gift into a permanent keepsake. It’s a delicate process that lets you sit quietly together and focus on the little details, resulting in a piece of jewelry that literally holds a memory of the day.

Another great idea is baking a signature treat together from scratch. Whether it’s a family recipe passed down through generations or a viral dessert you found online, the process of measuring ingredients and decorating is often more fun than the actual eating. You can put on a favorite playlist, wear matching aprons, and enjoy the sweet smells filling the kitchen. Plus, you get to package up the leftovers as a tasty memento of the day.

If you’d rather relax, you could set up an at-home spa retreat. Transform the living room into a sanctuary with scented candles, calming music, and a multiple of face masks or foot soaks. It’s a great way to force a "reset" for someone who is always busy taking care of others, giving you both a chance to unwind and have those deep, uninterrupted conversations that are hard to find during a normal week.

Maybe you would like to have a nice picnic in the park! Set up a charming picnic in the park with them. Pack a basket filled with her favorite snacks, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks. Enjoy the serenity of nature as you relax on a blanket, soak up the sunshine, and savor delicious food together. To make the experience even more special, you could bring along a portable speaker to play a playlist of songs that remind you both of your favorite memories. You might also pack a camera or a sketchbook to capture the scenery and the quiet moments of connection throughout the afternoon. Ending the day with a slow walk through the grass allows for the kind of deep, unhurried conversation that truly celebrates your bond.
