How to Stop Procrastinating

Rua Kim

Procrastination-we’ve all been there before, right? In this essay, we’ll give you three foolproof methods on how to break free from the cycle of procrastination and actually get your work done! (on time)

  1. Make Any Decisions In Advance

Studying without any planning  always leads you to using your phone unconsciously. Planning out your study sessions or when you do your homework can lead you to stop that from happening. If you set out a plan for your project and a schedule on when to do each part, you can slowly do each part one day at a time and it can lead you to stop procrastinating!

  1. Eliminate Distractions

Do you ever sit down to study and when you get to your senses you’ve been on your phone for 20 minutes? Eliminating distractions will help prevent that! Most people won’t be able to physically lock their phone away but there are ways to remove them from your access! Limiting your screentime in the settings app, where you can turn on downtime is one way to eliminate distractions. Another way is to put your phone in another room. If you’re studying in the living room, leave your phone in your room.

  1. Time Management

We’ve all studied for 10 minutes and started using your phone for the rest of the “study session”. By setting up alarms in small intervals, you could study for 20 minutes, give yourself a 5 minute break, and study for another 20 minutes. This way you won’t get burnt out or distracted because you know you have a break.
