7th grade perspective on Holiday Spirit at M.S. 158

Everyone has their own opinions about celebrating the holiday spirit. Let’s see what students and teachers think about how 158 spreads the Holiday Spirit.

When speaking with Ms. Sung-Hee (Ketheren),she was asked “How do you feel about how 158 celebrates the holiday spirit?” Her reply was “Well I think it’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday since it makes the school a bit more fun. Such as the variety of the activities make it more fun” Next she was asked, "do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit?" Her response was “I would say it is still very fun what we are currently doing and there aren’t much suggestions on how 158 can make any changes to show holiday spirit, but a bit more activities such as a short activity that celebrates one of the world-wide holidays sounds nice”

Additional replies came from:

Vivian: “I feel great about how 158 celebrates the holiday spirit. The staff's creativity is wonderful! They come up with cool ideas, like decorating your homeroom. The activities are fun and fair.” Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit?: “No, but some suggestions I would have include some more fun games! They can also lighten up the mood with holiday movies/short clips we can watch. That's all there is to it, I look forward to the events!”

According to Elisa, “I feel like it’s pretty inclusive and festive. I think it’s inclusive because it has activities that make students come together to have to be able to complete it.” Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit? “More decorations”

According to Jason He:“It's pretty good and competitive. They should make things fair.” “They should give everyone the same materials to make it fair.”

Sophia Cherry expressed “I think it’s a very expressive way of showing spirit, and feels very inclusive as the celebrations don’t rely on specific holidays.” Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit? “No! It’s perfect!”

Another student, Stamati Petratos shared "Er, I don't know it’s alright” Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit?" “Have fun”

Rob LoCastro expressed how he “...loves how they celebrate the holiday spirit, this year we started Winterfest which really is a great way to celebrate for the entire month of December.” When asked, Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit? “No , if anything we should continue this tradition and continue to add on to celebrate in other ways.”

There are some other opinions to take, for example one student expressed how she felt about how 158 celebrates the holiday spirit “It’s terrible they just tell us to do stuff and expect us to do it.” when asked Do you think 158 should make any changes on how they show the holiday spirit “I think they should reunite the students as a whole instead of separating us by doing competitions”. We can't expect to be a legitimate news source, without expressing all student opinions.

That's all for now! If I had interviewed more people, then I could make this into a whole book!

Keep checking the website though! because I might be doing more interviews next time!

See ya!
