It’s a new year at M.S.158, meaning there's new 6th graders. Coming to a new school can be hard at first, but after some time it will get easier.
As 7th graders, here are a few tips to help you during your first few months in your new school:
Prioritize your schoolwork: Many kids don't care about their grades and will have a harder time in school. School is important to our everyday life!
Try to make friends, even if you're shy: Sometimes it can be hard to talk to new people, but having friends will make school more fun, and will be helpful for homework.
Have empathy for others: It’s important to have empathy for everyone; you don't know what someone is going through, and what you say and do could really affect someone.
Have your own opinion: Just because everyone else has their opinion about something doesn’t mean you should too. It’s because of our opinions that make us, us.
