Why is MS 158 using GoGuardian?

The school year just began, all the students already got their school issued devices and many teachers need the devices to assign work. This is a good way to learn, but there is a problem, the teacher can’t see the progress students make, how the student participates in class, and the teacher does not know what the student is doing on the device. So, they could not help the student very well. 

Now the app “GoGuardian” was used at M.S.158 to improve teaching and learning in many ways. In class, teachers now can look at what the students are doing and what websites the students open. They have access to close their website and look at their history. This prevents students from doing something else on the device, and the teacher can lock their device any time. The student will not be able to log this page out except they ask the teacher to unlock it.

During class the teacher could take screen shots, track their microphone, keyboard and history. It also allows the teachers to send messages to students, giving them instructions on what to do, even if they are at home. 

They also have other products such as GoGuardian Admin, GoGuardian Beacon, GoGuardian DNS, GoGuardian Fleet, GoGuardian Director. For example GoGuardian Beacon can help the teachers or parents keep track of their device, and pull the alerts that the student might do something harmful to themselves or to others. 

According to the GoGuardian website GoGuardian Admin is the top choice for K-12 filtering, and more than 97% of guardians and teachers said that this is good for tracking students, and GoGuardian is trusted by CCSD (Clark County School District), Chicago Public School and New York City Public Schools. There were more than 10,000 schools using GoGuardian.
