What it’s about:
Hamilton is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that debuted on August 6, 2015. The musical’s score combines hip-hop, R&B (rhythm and blues), jazz, and traditional Broadway musical tunes. It follows the life of the first U.S. secretary of treasury, Alexander Hamilton. He was an immigrant from the Caribbean who participated in the Revolutionary War. The story begins with Aaron Burr introducing Alexander Hamilton, describing him as very ambitious and passionate. The rest of the story follows through explaining his political struggles, marriage, and rivalries. The story concludes with a description of what happens after Hamilton dies. Lin-Manuel Miranda provides everyone with an amazing Broadway musical.
About Lin Manuel Miranda and how he created Hamilton:

Lin-Manuel Miranda was born on January 16, 1980 in New York City. Miranda composed In The Heights, his first musical, during his time at Wesleyan University in 2000. Eventually, in 2007, In The Heights made its off Broadway debut. Finally, in 2008, In The Heights made its Broadway debut. This boosted Miranda’s fame and gave him the chance to perform a song at the White House. Instead of performing a song from In The Heights, Miranda decided to perform a song about Alexander Hamilton–which ended up becoming one of the first editions of the first song in Hamilton. In 2013 Hamilton’s mixtape premiered at New York Stage and Film. On January 20, 2015 Hamilton was first performed in The Public Theater and later on Broadway. Hamilton earned 11 Tony awards in the exact same year. The show has set a record high for Tony nominations, achieving 16. In 2019, Lin performed for a 2 week run in Puerto Rico.
The Movie in Disney+ and in theatre
Hamilton was going to be released in movie theaters in 2020 however, due to covid 19, it could not be released in theaters; so it was put on Disney+ instead. When it was released it became a huge hit for Disney+’s platform. In the first two weeks it was played by millions of households around the world. For its 10th anniversary it has been played in the theaters since September 5, 2025. The movie includes a small clip of interviews with the original cast.
10 year anniversary:
This year was the 10 year anniversary of Hamilton and there were many events to celebrate. Playbills changed from “Hamilton” to “Hamilten,” a Hamilton pop-up shop opened in New York City, the original cast performed together again many times, the Hamilton movie released in theaters, and much more. These events were a fun and interactive way to celebrate 10 years of Hamilton
