Fall is a wonderful season to spend time with family and friends. Whether it’s outdoors or indoors, there are so many fun activities to do with your loved ones. This article will show you multiple fun and exciting activities to do during this awesome time of year!


Number one: DIY Leaf Bookmarks

DIY (Do-It-Yourself) leaf bookmarks are easy to make and extremely festive. All you need are paper, leaves, glue and a thick book.


  1. Put the leaves you found from outdoors into the book and close the book

  2. Wait for the leaves to flatten completely

  3. Grab the paper and cut out a 3 inches x 6 inches rectangle 

  4. When the leaves are flat, glue them on to the paper rectangle

  5. Enjoy your new and festive bookmark!


Number two: Halloween/Thanksgiving Picnic

Picnics are fun and exciting! Fall is the perfect time to have a picnic with friends and family. You can decorate the things you bring to a picnic to give it a spooky Halloween vibe or a cozy Thanksgiving vibe! All you need is paper, fabric, markers, glue, sewing tools and the things you’re gonna bring to the picnic (basket, plate, utensils, blanket)


  1. Cut out pumpkins, bats, spiders (or leaves, pilgrim hats, pumpkins if it’s Thanksgiving) on the fabric/paper

  2. Color the fabric/paper with the markers to add more details

  3. Sew or glue your cut out decorations onto the objects you’re decorating

  4. Enjoy your spooky/cozy picnic!



Number three: DIY Leaf Collection Album

Leaves are truly among the most beautiful sights of mother nature during the fall. If you’re one of those leaf collectors, then you can make this simple diy leaf collection album to keep your leaves safe and beautiful. All you need are paper, markers, labels, glue, binder and thin card protectors.


  1. Put a label on all the card protectors

  2. Glue all the card protectors onto the papers in equal rows and columns

  3. Put all the papers into the binder

  4. Decorate your album to your heart’s desire 

  5. Put all your leaves into the card protectors and write on the labels the date and location you collected them 

  6. Enjoy your beautiful leaf collection!


Number four: Leaf art

Ever wanted to draw something that gives off the feeling of fall? Well then, here’s a simple art project that is fun and beautiful. All you need are paper, canvas, pencil, leaves and watercolor paint.


  1. Choose whether you want to draw on the paper or canvas

  2. Trace the leaves against your drawing surface

  3. Remove the leaves

  4. Use the watercolor paint and paint around the leaves you traced

  5. Wait for the paint to dry

  6. OPTIONAL STEP: Fill in the outlined leaves with your favorite color 

  7. Enjoy your masterpiece artwork!
