Exciting News from Our School’s Coding Team!

Did you know that our school has an amazing coding team? This talented group of students have been working hard on Lego robotics, coding, and much more! Under the guidance of Ms. Carbone and Ms. Oliveira, the Coding Cougars have been making incredible progress and showcasing their skills in the competitions.
Recently, their dedication and hard work paid off in a big way! The team earned a silver ticket for their impressive performance in robotics, securing their spot at the NYC FLL Semi-Finals (New York City First Lego League). The semi-finals took place on Sunday, March 9th, from 8 AM to 3 PM at I.S. 061 Leonardo Da Vinci Intermediate School, located at 98-50 50th Ave, Corona, NY 11368.
On Sunday, March 9th the "Coding Cougars" competed at the NYC FLL semi-final (New York City First Lego League) at I.S.061 Leonardo Da Vinci Intermediate School at 98-50 50th Ave, Corona, NY 11368 and they put in their tremendous effort and outstanding performance and they earned them a rising star award! Congratulations Cougar and this is a picture of who is in the coding club. A huge congratulations to the Coding Cougar Team on this well deserved recognition!
During his weekly bulletin to the teachers of MS 158, Principal McHugh acknowledged how proud he was of the the efforts of the Coding Cougars by saying "We also have much to celebrate with our Robotics Team, the Coding Cougars, who excelled at their recent competition, showcasing their innovative skills and teamwork, and won an award for their tremendous and outstanding performance. Their achievements are a clear indication of what can be accomplished when we believe in our students and provide them with the opportunities to shine. This accomplishment and many of the great goals we have reached, highlight the diverse strengths of our students and the importance of nurturing their passions." As you can tell, our Principal is very proud of all the accomplishments we have achieved so far, and there are still three months left in school.
