Epic: The Musical- A Brief Description

Chiara Minerva

Have you ever heard of the song “Would You Fall in Love With Me Again?” If you didn’t already know, that song is from “Epic: The Musical.” So what is Epic? Let me explain:

How long is “Epic: The Musical” and what is its format?

“Epic: The Musical” is a concept album which means it has an entire album of songs but the musical itself is just a concept and hasn’t been performed anywhere. It’s sung the full way through so if you listen to the songs in order, you will get the full storyline. Epic is 2 hours and 23 minutes long in total. Epic has a total of 40 songs split into two acts with 20 songs in each act. These acts are then split into a total of 9 sagas or parts; 5 sagas in part one and 4 sagas in part two.

What Is Epic about?

Epic is a retelling of the Greek myth the Odyssey; which is about King Odysseus’ journey home from Troy after the Trojan war. Since Epic is a retelling, the story is a bit different from the Odyssey but when it is different,  it is usually to better fit the theme of the musical which is to embrace ruthlessness when necessary.
